Hi everyone! I just wanted to make a quick post and give you all some more information into what exactly we will be looking for in winning comments for the MPFC.
The goals of this contest are as follows:
- To help musicians on Steemit improve their skills
- To provide another platform to promote your music and get quality listeners
- To develop a community of musicians for the benefit of all Steemians
- To give you all epic prizes which will allow you grow your followings even further!
With these goals in mind, we are not simply looking for quick little single line comments. We are looking for in depth reviews with constructive criticism when necessary. That doesn't mean we are just going to be dumping Whaleshares on the most savage commenters. If the track is great, say the track is great! But the goal isn't to create a spammy circle jerk of inane comments. We want to really improve our skills together here. So be honest about your opinions when providing feedback and listen VERY carefully in order to provide the most useful feedback possible. Follow these guidelines and you will have a really good chance at snagging Whaleshares and Voiceshares regularly!
Quick Tips:
- Provide feedback on at least one track before posting your own track.
- Make sure you post your tracks and feedback on the official contest post.
- Listen to the entire track. Not just a portion.
- Provide constructive criticism along with positive feedback.
- Offer advice where you can. Including plugin recommendations etc..
In order to help you further I am going to post some of the best examples we've had so far!
really like the style of your beat! very relaxing! maybe use a little more fx on the background and make it stereo a little. Also panning and stereo the higher tones, and mono the lower tones makes it easier for the compressor to not whipe out volume so you have a more cleaner mxi at the end. That's my tip :) hope it helps a bit. ohh and maybe a little more mid freq on the guitar with a slight reverb would make it sound phatter and more stereo too!
Very nice intro, the build up and breakdowns really create a hyping suspense before you bring out that energetic vibe at 0:46. The transitions are near flawless. You would have all the people at a rave or club or festival dancing out of pure happiness. How could anyone feel down and out with such an epic instrumental. You truly breathed life into this moving melodic piece. It is a being of its own existence because you gave it so many parts to not be so repetitive and drawn out. Truly the characteristics of a skilled and experienced producer who knows how to build and arrange and create different moods and emotions through the storytelling of music and beat placement. I am hyped now, make me want to do hella pushups or something haha. Great entry.
I would not change a thing in this beat. Everything is in the place where it supposed to be. I love the mood of track and when I listen to it, I go back in time when I was on Seasplash festival (really cool Dub festival on beachside). This is the beachside where this festival happened:
Brings back great memories ;) Keep up the good work! Peace
I hope these tips and examples will help you craft some masterful feedback comments and net you some Whaleshares and Voiceshares! Head over to the Feedback Contest post now!
