STEEMIT CULINARY CHALLENGE : Sniffle Snuffin Carrot, Scotch Bonnet, Ginger & Green Tea Soup!

Sniffle snuffin soup with green tea, turmeric, ginger and scotch bonnet chilli!!! This thing can bring you back from the slimy grey clutches of the cold with its amazing health boosting ingredients: Green Tea BOOM! Turmeric BOOM! Ginger BOOM BOOM!! And not to forget that amazing nose clearing, chest lightening star - Scotch Bonnet Chilli!

Look at these cold clearing ingredients. I aint no scientist but who needs science when you have random links from the interweb!!

Lets get stuck in, it only takes ten minutes and is so easy its almost a crime!

You will need


2 Carrots
2 Small potatoes
4 Cloves of Garlic (Garlic too, is renowned for its health benefits!)
1 inch cube of ginger
Half a teaspoon of ground turmeric
Half a small onion
Half a Scotch bonnet chilli pepper
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
50 mls of good oil (I use rapeseed)
500 mls of vegetable stock
Small handful of spinach leaves (Spinach you say? Popeye's secret weapon)!

To make

Peel carrots and potatoes, any way you like!

Roughly chop carrots and potatoes, dont worry about how fine the chopping is, they are all getting blended

Boil em for ten minutes

Finely chop onion garlic, ginger and scotch bonnet - You know that scotch bonnet is gonna clear them mucus laden pipes!!

Wallop your oil and spinach in a blender and whizz up

Make a lovely cup of green tea! Mmm I love green tea.

Stir fry your onion, ginger, garlic and scotch bonnet chilli and after a minute add half a teaspoon of turmeric and a tablespoon of lemon juice

Fry for a few minutes then take off the heat

Make your stock, I use a vegetable stock cube here

Now add everything to your blender!

Whizz it up

Give it a sniff, oof!!

Serve it up

Now remember your spinach oil? Get a tablespoon dip it in it and drizzle it artistically onto your soup!

Now serve, preferably with crusty bread!

Amazing, this health in a bowl will help the snuffles and sniffles!!!
