The Kind and Gentle Lion (An Original Children's Story)

Once upon a time, there was a kind and gentle lion who lived by himself in the forest. He didn’t have any friends because all of the other animals were afraid of him. They avoided him as much as possible. They never talked to him or even looked at him. The lion was always sad and lonely.

One day, the lion was sitting by the river when he heard a group of animal hunters wandering around the area. He quickly ran off to inform the other animals so that they could all move somewhere safe. But they were not convinced.

“He’s just luring us to the darker part of the forest so that he could eat us all”, a monkey said to the others.

“We’d rather stay in our den than go with you”, a mother bear agreed as she protectively wrapped her arms around her babies.

The lion had no choice but to leave on his own. As much as he wanted to help everyone, they won’t believe him. So he went to the safest part of the forest, in a cave where he can stay comfortably until the hunters are gone.

Not long after he settled, he heard a commotion coming from the home of the other animals.

He can sleep if he wanted to, but he didn't. He was so worried about the other animals. He can't stand the thought of being safe inside the cave while the others are in great danger. Even though they never liked him, he treated them as family.

With all his strength and courage, he decided to go back and help the animals. By the time he arrived, the hunters have already caught five animals, and just as they were about to catch another one, the lion jumped at them and let out a mighty roar. The hunters were surprised and alarmed that they ran in an instant, leaving behind the animals that they have caught.

The animals cheered for the lion as the last of the hunters went out of sight. The lion was so happy and proud of what he did. Finally, the animals became his friends. All the animals apologized to the kind lion for the way they treated him before. Since then, the lion and the other animals lived together in harmony. They took care of each other and no one was ever left out again.

Needless to say but I'll say it anyway,

they all lived happily ever after.
