Today we are going to have a look at the strongest animal there is. Last week I thought that the gorilla was the strongest because it could pick up two cars. Today I found out that the Dung Beetle can pick up 1141 times his own body weight. So I went to have a look on the internet to to see how much that is. It is just like an average sized human carrying 80 tons.

Then I thought by myself how big is 80 ton. I discovered the following, a tank weight 80 ton.

That blow my mind really away. By just looking at the tank I thought how many strong men will it take just to pick up the belt of the tank.
A Male Dung beetle can pull 1,141 times their own body weight: that is equivalent of an average person pulling six double-decker buses full of people. I don't know about you but this is for me really amazing just to think a taxi full of people will be childsplay for him to pull it,

The dung beetle is so strong that if he was a person that he could pull not 1 but 6 of these buses full of people.
They are found on all continents except Antarctica.
Dung Beatles also don't have to drink or eat anything else because the dung provides all the necessary nutrients.
Usually it is the male that rolls the ball, with the female following behind. It is just In some cases that the female also help. When a spot with soft soil is found, they stop and bury the ball. After mating, one or both of them prepares the brooding ball. When the ball is finished, the female lays eggs inside it. The larvae live in brood balls made with dung by their parents. The outside layer of the brood ball gets hard underground and creates a protective layer to keep the grub safe. The inside layer stays soft and moist to feed the growing dung beetle grub.

I was curious how they get so strong and then I found out the following. The beetles' secret, according to Rob Knell of Queen Mary, University of London, who superglued cotton thread to the insects' legs and tied the other end to a pulley, is sex.
The female dig tunnels under a dung pat, where males mate with them. If a male enters a tunnel that is already occupied by a rival, they fight by locking horns and try to push each other out. Scientists tested the beetles' ability to resist a rival by measuring how much weight was needed to pull him out of his hole.
Not all of them push a ball of poop, some Dung beetles don’t bother rolling dung balls at all.
Dung beetles specialize on the dung of particular animals, When it comes to poop, the fresher the better (at least from the dung beetle's perspective).
Dung beetles move quickly when they smell fresh poo of animals. Scientists observed 4,000 dung beetles on a fresh pile of elephant scat within 15 minutes. after it hit the ground, and shortly thereafter, they were joined by an additional 12,000 dung beetles. With that kind of competition, you have to move quick if you’re a dung beetle.
First scientists thought that Dung beetles were dancing on the dung but afterwards they put small hats over them, they discover that they do that, using the milky way to get their direction.
