Using SteemReports.com to see where your loyalty lies and if you are sharing the love around on Steemit
There is a set of immediately accessible reports at Steem Reports, and today i'm going to talk about the Outgoing Votes section. This report contains a pie chart showing how many votes you have cast, and where they were placed in the previous 14 days.
Does this tell you what kind of Steemian you are?
Are you showing love to the 'right' people?
Is your conscience clear?
Take a look at yourself
Lets start with my voting stats. Before i found SteemReports, I did think that i spent a good amount of time in the 'new' section, hunting for posts i found of quality, as well as having a good look through the posts of the 500+ people i am following. This is fairly time consuming but i feel pleased to find new content and reward the producer of this with a nice comment and an up-vote.
So when i found the following pie chart, I felt pleased, and also a little guilty.
Guilty in that 6.5% of my total votes were to myself. In a gift community is the goal here to reach 0% of your love being to yourself?
Pleased that the largest chunk of my voting was directed towards 'Others', 670 others. This sounded good to me as it told me i'd been sharing the love reasonably far and wide. However, until you compare and contrast, how do you know if you are a selfish or kind, a giver or a taker? Lets check out some other accounts...
I'm a saint!
Well, compared to these two accounts I am....
9 votes from 41 in the past 14 days, going to 'others' with 91% of the love to oneself.
2 votes in 14 days, -41 to others = ok this looks broken or not very good.....
Apart from these accounts looking rather selfish in self-votes, they also haven't managed the average 10 votes per day (at full power) which totals 140 over the analysis period. To me, this is like not posting Christmas cards to people when you have been given the cards and stamps already! I am not feeling the love here at all, and am glad my pie chart does not look like this.
I'm a sinner!
Having looked at over 50 accounts, this one is unique and puts you (presumably) and I to shame. Zero self-votes, what a hero and selfless user we have here! Congratulations you have reached Zen level Steemian.
Probably just your average Steemian
A good job here on the % of self-votes, much better than myself. I would question the reach to perhaps, smaller or newer users who have content to share but overall I think these are accounts in fine form.
Summary
There are a wide range of voting styles here in the community, but i'm not telling you anything new here. We have the givers and takers, the selfish and the kind - just like in all parts of life. Personally, i think there's room for improvement in almost all of us, and i'd like to get my self-voting down to under 1% at some point.
