SteemitPhotoChallenge Entry 2 – Reading the Landscape - Change - SPC 21

Nothing in nature is static. Change is inevitable. It may seem slow to us, but it is happening, nonetheless. These American Sweetgum trees are slowly marching through the clearing next to this small pond in Arkansas. These trees are beautiful, but they can take over the open fens where rare orchids and other sensitive plants live. Without regular wildfires, it takes real effort to keep them in check. What natural changes are occurring in your area?
