It's the Fourth week of the challenge and I have been participating since week one because I can't tell when I will scale through so why give up now.
I have learnt patience from this because making a write-up of 1000 words could be tiring especially during the proof-reading but then it's all worth it.
I want to sincerely appreciate @dorbatim, @flysky @aidasfg7 for their support in organizing this contest.
To the winners of the last three weeks @utomobong, @josecarrasquero, @camilius your success story is really encouraging and hopefully, you all get to celebrate with me this week 😁
To all those who have contributed to the success of this contest; Many thanks to you.
Why this week is actually special for me is because today (20th Feb) made it a month since I joined steemit and the experiences has been amazing.
My name is Emediong Ndueso Silas, I am the 3rd child in a family of 5;all girls. My parents are civil servants and although they ensure we are well taken care of, they have also instilled in us the spirit of hard work, determination and focus. I am a student but most times, I forget that because am very versatile in business; I am into property marketing and networking.
I went for training on making pasteries(peanuts, chin-chin, egg-roll etc) and it has helped me in my finances as I do it and deliver to my clients. For better delivery, I actually want to get some machines that would aid in making it in large quantities from my earnings on steemit.I have so many dreams and aspirations that it scares me and I must do all it takes to get there.
I joined steemit on 20th January 2018;thanks to @datibomchic for her endeared love.
@datibomchic and I in class after she convinced me to join.
Firstly, as any newbie, after my introductory post made $14.60, I was very encouraged and was willing to keep it going.. But the latter event disproved my point.. My post could barely make $1 in a day and I had to inquire what to do.. When I was told I had to discover the community, I decided I was going to do just so.
This decision led me to the steemit Uyo community. At first when I joined the community, I rarely participated but then I realized if I don't, then I can't expect to get better; so I got involved, made suggestions and contributions when it was required and started making friends.. I met @penking from the group and he was so welcoming.
With time I got to interact with @samstickkz and indeed he has been a source of inspiration in ways he is yet to realize and we have gotten very close.
@samstickkz and I
Recently, I have had interactions with @peterwrites @mritsnobigdeal @emmanueladams and these people have made me feel at home.. They are like the brothers I never had 😁😁
This community has helped me in giving to those who need help more and I am happy am helping in my own quota. Recently, for the celebration of the Valentine's Day, the community visited and made an impact on children and although I couldn't make it with them because of my lectures that day, I am happy I contributed to put a smile on their face. I had a refreshing feeling since the pictures from the visit and knowing the outcome was productive.
Another community which has widened my network of friends is the genesisproject family, here I have met new friends @burlarj, @mittymartz, @morahn, @aristocrat. Not a day goes by, where there are no discussions on how to get better in the community and in our personal life. This group keeps it real and all coordinated.
Before I joined steemit as at January 2018,i was in so much debt.. I had lent money to friends who promised to refund but then couldn't do so,with that, I had to take up the trouble of settling those debts incurred. When steemit wasn't forthcoming, I was discouraged but what kept me going was that I had to settle those debts and Rome wasn't built in a day, so I can't expect it to be so easy at the beginning; So I kept pushing it.
There were days when my post made just $0.40
but recently it hasn't been so.. Now, my post makes at least $1 and it wouldn't be possible without all those friends who visit my blog.
So personally, making it to a month on steemit, I want to appreciate them all.. Their boost and comments make me excited to write more. For this set of people who are constantly on my blog and always showing their support, I wouldn't come this far without 👉 you. Thank you sincerely.
And to my followers, I am happy to have you 😁👏
Steemit has given my life a whole new meaning and experience, I have learnt more about team work because it has proved the saying, "no man is an island" true. I have not only gotten financial increase but have expanded my social network and I have returned back to the community. One of the reasons I look forward to my payouts are because of the people I help with it, even with the little, I ensure I do my best to bless someone's life.
It has also revealed innate talents I didn't know I possessed. It has groomed and cultured my writing skills and I even made a poem;It was nice to know I could actually come up with something interesting at a first trial and I know it will keep getting better.
Getting this experience on steemit, I had to tell anyone who cared to listen about it. I talked about it with my fellow executives (in school, I am the vice-president of my department) and 3 out of 11 were so interested in it and happily joined. By next semester, I intend using my office to organize a steemit seminar for my department; to educate them on the advantages of being on this platform. After studies, what next? So I want them to keep up with the trend and new way of life and get to understand the world from a different perspective. I am already setting plans towards this event to make it a productive one.
My one month experience on steemit has been Wowwwww 🤗🤗.
