Steem Kitchen Contest #2 – Cheap and Cheerful

Hello and greetings everyone. This is my entry to the SteemKitchen Contest #2 – Cheap and Cheerful

And this I will be sharing with you as well. I’ve been thinking that since this is the month of November and one of the special events for November is our holiday of “Thanksgiving Day,” not only in the USA, but also in some parts of the world as well.

This dish will be very much appropriate for the occasion as this is the day where we’re all gathered with our family and friends in a dinner table with traditional turkey dinner and all sorts of other delicious side dishes that comes with it. We simply honor this day with great regard for what we’ve been blessed for by our creator and naturally being grateful by giving thanks in return I’m sure is indeed pleasing to him.

The dish that I will be sharing can be prepared on the day of Thanksgiving or the day after thanksgiving if you have any leftovers from your turkey meat dinner. The dish is called “Butter Croissant Thanksgiving Sandwich.” I’ve learned how to make this when I was stationed in Germany in Weisbaden in 1993 from one of my friends.

The preparation time is about 10-15 minutes.
Serving: 4

The original cost of ingredients:
Croissant, 6 croissants in a pack = $4.99
Butterball turkey, 6 slices in a bag = $4.10
Avocado = $2.00
Pear = $0.54
Bag of baby spinach (good for 6) = $2.49
Cranberry jell = $1.37
Brie cheese = $6.99

Cost to make 4 Sandwiches
4 croissants = $3.32
4 turkey = $2.73
Avocado = $1.00
Pear = $0.54
Spinach = $1.64
Cranberry jell = $0.75
Brie = $3.50

Total cost: $13.38

Overall total cost price of the sandwich not including labor is $13.48. Steem price is approximately .98 cents to a dollar. I still think that the price of the sandwich is very affordable. The cost of the sandwich is $3.37 each.

And you get a sandwich that is very tasty and delicious filled with good nutrients that is good and healthy to the body. Purchasing this sandwich at a sandwich shop would probably cost you double the price. Obviously, it is cheaper to make this sandwich at home. So, not to delay any longer here is how to make it.

There you have it a delicious sandwich that is very affordable in budget than if you are to buy the sandwich from a sandwich shop. I love and enjoy creating a sandwich made with turkey especially if it is cooked fresh and sliced in comparison to a lunchmeat box. And also because this sandwich is just turkey meat with fruits, vegetables, cranberry, and brie in a butter croissant, how savory and delicious is that for a sandwich?

I hope you will try making this tasty and nutritious sandwich in your own kitchen at home and share with your family and friends. It is very simple and easy to make. What a better way to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with your family, love ones, and friends whom you love dearly on this very special occasion.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I’m wishing you an advance Happy Thanksgiving as well as Happy Cooking!
