Chapter XXII: The Legend of King Arthur
Not since the Ancients had walked the Steemit World, had the Communities known peace.
For a millennium Magicians of Mordor had reigned supreme; as their enslaved Goblins, Orcs and Trolls (an Axis of Evil); waged a soulless war across the land. Sickness. Corruption. Famine. Death. The Steem ceased to flow. These were the Dark Ages.
One man however; honourable and brave; began to fight back. Guided by the 'Light' he called to arms his kinsmen and forged an unnatural alliance with the Elves, the Dwarfs and the Halflings. His name was 'ARTHUR'.
Beguiled by Arthur's charm, elegance and witty repartee was the Lady of the Lake, 'Nimue the Ancient.' And the two fell in love. But Arthur's first passion was the freedom of his people.
To protect her beloved from harm, the Lady Nimue bestowed upon Arthur the Sword 'EXCALIBUR'.
Forged by an Ancient in the Ethereum Fires, it was said that the sword would protect whom did wield it and the army they led.
...But the Lady had been deceived. For the true purpose of Excalibur was much more devious. For whom that would wield Excalibur, would RULE THE STEEM!
