A few months in the making now, our very own Marlon aka @flabbergast-art and his team in Alinaga are about to embark in their journey, a walk throughout the Philippines, doing what they love best, teaching Music and Arts to those underprivileged in our society. This time, the target is outside Manila.
In 2012, Marlon and a couple of his artist friends started their art journey exhibits, promoting Ilocano paintings, sharing and learning other culture around the Philippines. They were doing it for 6-7 months going from town to town till financial restraints put it on hold. He have been waiting from then on who will sponsor his next tour, choosing Steemit Philippines instead to sponsor his group and the local government per province that they will be visiting.

Bringing Steemit to the masses

In lieu with Steemit Philippines' vision and missions, we have been doing what we do best, that is to promote the platform through our charity initiatives in Manila. Since our launch in August till the last quarter of 2017, together with Tribo Alinaga, Music and Arts have been the biggest part of our outreach.
According to Marlon, these Manila outreach were just tasters of what is to come in their tour. Sponsored by the LGU, the local government of each town will handle all the necessary things needed, these include their meals, accommodations and transport of their paintings and equipments. As from their Manila Music and Arts outreach, target population in this tour will be of elementary kids, high school students, inmates, special education kids and out of school youth. There are also talks of reaching out to the teachers and do Music and Arts workshops if it can be arranged.
The platform will be pitched in at the same time, reaching out to all personnels involved as well as to the parents of the kids, aiming to reach out to most of the population per town. Preparation for this includes showing Steemit Filipino videos, fliers, etc. Merchandise will also be given as give-aways in Steemit promotion. Seeds will also be given to families as a homesteading option for free.
A Walk of HOPE
This walk will also aim to reach out to local artists and promote Steemit as a platform for their works where they can earn extra income. The number of Filipino artists now in the platform have been increasing exponentially, coming from all the provinces in the Philippines.
As all the paintings from 2012 were left in Bacolod, this tour will commence from there, going to Dumaguete, Leyte, Tacloban, Iloilo, Cebu. This route will culminate in Davao then to Luzon.

Steemit Philippines will join Marlon as much as possible to pitch the platform but anyone is invited to join the walk. Any Steemian, locally and abroad who happens to be in the vicinity of this tour is also invited to pitch in the platform if they are so inclined. Dates and places are tentative as of now and will be posted as soon as everything is in place.
