Here's My Story.
I have been married to my beautiful wife now for 7 years, coming up 8. It was something we had started planning for a long time but because of finances and quite often unexpected bills it was always put on hold.
Here in the UK, when a couple gets married, traditionally the parents of the bride pay for everything, unfortunately my wife's parents were no longer alive so it was up to us to put the money together. Looking at amazing venues, wedding catering, the cost of the ceremony, honeymoon, we would have been talking in the region of anywhere from £7000 - £10,000. Not small change may I add!

Now, because of the sheer expenses, we went along a different route, we opted to get married in the registry office, and we opted for almost a secret wedding, as well as my wife and myself, the only other guests were her brother and his partner, and my daughter and future son-in-law.
The ceremony was very straight forward and quick, the costs were minimal, afterwards we went out for a meal at a local pub/restaurant and had an amazing feast along with copious bottles of pink champagne.
Although we would have preferred to have had the perfect big wedding with all the trimmings, the important factor was that we did get married and of course it is not the where and when, it's the fact that we did.
