Hello dear Steemians,
Today I wanted to present you my latest watercolour painting of one of the favourite places in my husband’s mother town Münster it is Clemen’s Church.
The majority of city up to 91% was destroyed by Allied air raids. My husband’s mother always tells us the stories about the time when she was little girl and played in ruined area, while the women took part in cleaning up the destroyed area and re-built the city. The complete reconstruction finished in 1973. Last year we made few pictures of the church and some of the historical pictures inside, the same time for comparison the today pictures made by @myskye.
The St. Clemens Church in Münster (Germany) is a monastery and hospital church built according to the plans of Johann Conrad Schlaun in the years 1745-1753.
The reconstruction and the faithful restoration of the Clemens Church with its rich interior decoration began in 1956 and was completed in 1973.
