Here is what 12.9 pounds of someones coin collection looks like. Yes I did actually weigh it. Every once-in-a while "stuff" comes my way, this is the second time someone's coin collection has. It's a little sad because somebody spent a lifetime collecting this stuff and then they died, now the rest of the family wants to dump it all for cash. In this case I have a week to go through this stuff to decide if I want to buy it and make an offer. Tonight I went through the first box.
How do I tell if this is silver? A magnet doesn't stick to it.
There are only 2 bullion pieces in this box, a dirty eagle and a fun round. Too bad Deadwood Dick is beat up arpund the edges.
A little American junk.
And onto the sweet sweet Canadian silver dollars. Here is an off centre '65.
These were for sale at some point for 6 and 9 dollars.
What's with the red stickers? Were these on sale maybe at a coin show before?
Look at all of those beautiful '58's!
This one is off centre too.
Some '39's. 2 of them are labeled $20 each and the nicest one is labeled $18.
This box holds 63 Canadian silver dollars and a few other random goodies. I wonder what box 2 and 3 hold? Tune in next time!
As always all of my pictures are taken with my dirty old Samsung Galaxy S6. I'm @edthecanadian and if you haven't seen my latest ice racing blog you should check it out!
