☆☆Jbcoin's Metal Detecting Adventure! Free Silver for the Stack ☆☆

Hi all, got to do a little detecting today at a mid 60's house permission. These are the worst! Old enough to find wheat cents, but right at that date when the silver was being hoarded away (or just exchanged).

For those not old enough to remember 1965/66...there were two classes of people in that time.

The "who gives a fuck, a dime is a dime"....and the ones who realized that they were getting the clad shaft, and started hoarding all the silver that they could find at face value.

For someone who metal detects, we generally like to avoid mid 60s house permissions...cause it's a crap shoot of 800 hot wheels and matchbox cars...a whole lot of almost got silver with 1965 and 1966 quarters...but wheat cents still coming out of your ears, because no one cared much about them mid 60s.

Straight out of the car, I hit a honey hole of 5 wheat cents in a spill.

Then about 20 early Matchbox and Hotwheels cars that my detecting helper Brayden, my Grandson, was more than happy to help clean up!

Everything that I know about detecting is telling me that I am wasting my time here. A few wheat cents...a ton of pennies from 1959 through 1964. I am in that era when silver was saved, not lost.

Then the kicker....a 1965 quarter....screw you.

If this house was built 10 years earlier, we would be rollin' in free silver right now.

Pan around a few few feet from that clad quarter....And Bingo...a solid 95 signal at 6 inches.
My first and only silver of the day!

Nope, I wasn't the one who nicked it. That was most likely a lawnmower from days gone by. Jbcoin is too careful for that!

The spot that I am detecting is a friend's homesite that looks like this.

Just across the street, is one of the most unusual parks that you will ever see. They took a defunct industrial park and turned it into some sort of Egyptian pyramid, satanic metal red tree thing park. I don't even know. Looks like a scene out of The Walking Dead.

But, you can now climb the spiral staircase to the top of the smokestack if you dare lol! Spoiler alert, there is nothing to see in there...

The wrap up shots, minus all the toy cars that my Grandson is taking to the car wash as we speak!
