Derrick Rose Signs With Cleveland

Derrick Rose is now a Cleveland Cavalier. It seemed like only yesterday when Rose and Lebron James were talking smack and facing each other in the playoffs. Rose and James didn't get along and were much closer to being enemies then friends. But now, Rose is his teammate.
Rose signed a one year contract on Monday with Cleveland for $2.1 Million. That is a far cry from the $20 Million he was making as a Chicago Bull a few years ago. He is now only commanding a Veterans Minimum pay. Rose went from the 5th highest paid PG in the NBA to the 55th.
The Cleveland fans and Lebron James are rejoicing. But Chicago Bulls fans are laughing, in hopes that he continues to lose, but in a Cavs uniform. Rose was once the most beloved Chicago Bull, of the post Jordan era. But his injuries, attitude, and gang rape case ruined his reputation in the the city. There were rumors earlier in the week that Rose was going to sign with the Bulls again. The fans were not interested in another reboot in Chicago though. Chicago radio stations, including SportsFan 1330AM with @steemsports podcast contributor, @sportsfanjlogli, fielded tons of calls from fans that wanted nothing to do with him.
So what does all of this mean for the Cleveland Cavs? Trade rumors of Kyrie Irving were swirling for the last several days. Reports are that Irving is sick of playing with Lebron and is demanding a trade. Many are thinking that Lebron was the one that leaked this story as he is hoping for a trade with the Knicks. Irving has listed the Knicks as one of the teams he would play for. That would put Melo in Cleveland and the Big 4 of Lebron, Melo, Rose and Love be running loses in the Eastern Conference. Singing Rose makes trading Irving a much easier possibility.
Kyrie Irving had a fantastic year and playoffs. He averaged over 25 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in the regular season and playoffs. He is ready to stop being Batman’s sidekick, Robin. Irving wants to be THE superstar on a team, similar to what Russell Westbrook is on OKC.
Is the Derrick Rose signing a good one for the Cavs? Should they trade Kyrie? Is Lebron calling all of these shots? Tell us what you think and please follow @steemsports and @scottybuckets. Cheers!
