The forward, who is being courted by Spanish side FC Barcelona handed in a transfer request a day before the start of the season. The defender already spent last season on loan at Stoke and the club is exercising their option to permanently sign him. He cost them 7.7 million pounds.

Beșiktas has announced the signing of Gary Medel from Inter Milan
