A Sunday Away From Home(2)

Inspired by #sublimesunday a tag from @c0ff33a, #beautifulsunday (hosted by @ace108) and a beautiful Sunday!

I spent a sublime Sunday away from home. A good friend invited us to spend a week in Iasi, a beautiful city in northern Romania. This post is the second part of the post of the last week.

It was a beautiful and full day. I thought the evening would end with Don Giovanni's performance at the National Opera House in Iasi. Wrong! There was a lot to be seen.

The road to the hotel passes by the Palace of Culture ... Now, it would be hard to say that it was a surprise to see a scene prepared for a rock concert. I knew it would be a concert because I saw the posters in town. Still, it was no longer in our plan to see that concert even though the three bands that were going to sing were among our favorites.

It was still early and everyone was walking down the streets or going to the scene in front of the Palace of Culture.

After we got close to the scene, the fatigue of that beautiful but heavy day for us passed instantly. The energy released by both musicians and audiences has encompassed us.

The audience was very interesting, we were drawn to the diversity of those around us, young, old, families with children. Everyone enjoyed a great evening and good music. Some examples from the audience:

The Bands

Something about the Romanian rock

Music, this universal language of people has greatly helped the countries of Eastern Europe to keep in touch with life on the western side of the continent, from the capitalist world. We tried to copy the music from England and the US, more or less valuable bands appeared and some of them survived until now. At this concert, there were three bands, two over thirty years old and one (in the opening) that was founded after the revolution that removed communism from Romania(1989).

I'll put one video with each band. You may be interested in listening to Romanian rock music (a small part of it).

In opening: Vita de Vie

It's an alternative rock band, founded in 1996, highly appreciated by young people.

Second Band: Celelalte Cuvinte (The Other Words)

My favorite. Established in the mid 80's, progressive and hard rock music. A special voice, Calin Pop.

Star of that evening: Cargo

Another band from the 80's, it's a heavy metal band with great success to the public. From my point of view, their music is commercial but very melodious.

By midnight it's over! We hope to get to the hotel quickly for a little rest.

The morning is pretty close, I anticipate it will look like this. It will surely be a new, very beautiful day. We still have so many to visit. Many will follow ...
