My love for anime and drawing

IMG_2565.jpg

This was a drawing I made in Drawing 1 in college. It was a fundamental class that touched on the basic of drawing, ranging from simple shading to portrait drawing. I was pretty knowledgeable in drawing before I even took the class. But anyway this was my final project I had to do the the class. I knew everyone in my class was going to a black and white drawing with some shading or simple objects. There were some great drawings that my peers created.

I chose to draw my favorite anime characters from several shows because I grew up watching them. Watching Toonami, and Adult Swim really played a role in my inspiration as an artist. The character on the left and towards the bottom is Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. This show right here is probably the best anime show I have ever seen hands down. The girl towards the right of him is Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell stand alone complex. I use to watch this on adult swim in elementary school days, not only that this character is gorgeous but she also knows how to kick ass at the same time. ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ The next character above her that's eating a doughnut is non other than Vash the stampede from Trigun. This Anime is pretty action pack and it is very similar to Cowboy Bebop, which I like. (ノ ̄ω ̄)ノ The character on the right of him is Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho. This show hits home ever time I watch it, every once in awhile. The Bear looking character that's sitting on the soda can is ToToro from My neighbor Totoro. The first time I watched this movie was when I was in Japanese club, this propelled me to take a Japanese class and from there, I had great endless times in high school. The drawing on the top right is Nujabes, hes an actual person who is a deceased musician. I would listen to his instrumental music all the time, when I was drawing or meditating. I recommend you guys check out his jazz for the soul type music. The character below him is Naota Nandaba from the show FLCL or Fooly Cooly (フリクリ). This show has some of the most top notch animation I have seen back in the day. The visual and the characters all melt together to create a magnificent show. I think this was the show that got me into animation all together. The smiley face that's on the bottom right corner is the very first drawing from when I was four years old. I'm not sure how I remember this specific drawing, but i'm glad I put it in there. ◕‿◕ The soda can that Naota is drinking out of represents how I use to watch Toonami and Adult Swim late at night, when I was a kid. I just feel nostalgic thinking about how care free I was back then. I'm pretty sure you know who is on the bottom left corner of the picture. Sonic the Hedgehog. ヽ(^Д^)ノ This is how I use to draw sonic when I was a kid. And lastly the drawing that's on the top left corner is a Daruma doll. I got this when my high school was closing down the Japanese class in my senior year. I remember being very upset and sad at the time. My Japanese teacher said that I could take anything in the class room. So I took the Daruma doll. She told me that I could make a wish on the doll and mark a dot on the right eye. If my wish came true, I would then mark the left eye making my wish fulfilled. My wish still hasn't come true yet sadly, however if i'm ever successful in the Japanese language and being able to go to Japan, I will then proceed to mark the other eye. I also want to become successful on Steemit as well.

After getting done with this drawing, me and my classmates had to stand in a circle and give criticism on our work. And basically we also had to talk about our drawings and why we picked certain things in our projects. My other classmates had great drawings and did a pretty good job. I am glad that I was able to show some of my work to them, and experience new things and improving on my skill as a drawer. And I hope you guys enjoyed the picture. I feel like a lot more people on Steemit appreciate content creators more on here than any other social platform. Well thanks for taking the time to read my post, until next time. Peace. (* >ω<)
