Introducing My Art and Why You Shouldn't Give Up On Yours ❤️😌

Hello fellow Steemians!

I wanted to share some of my art with you today.

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. Like many other artists, I was inspired thanks to the popularity of Japanese animations in the early 2000s. I've never taken any proper art classes. Everything I know has been self taught. I owe a huge thanks to all of the wonderful people who share their skills and knowledge on the internet.

When I started college, I did not have the intention of making drawing into a career. Everyone around me made me feel like there was no way to make real money through art. So, I did as many do and studied health care instead. I stopped drawing and focused on my studies. But my career never gave me the same joy that creating art did.

8 years later, I really regret that decision. Drawing is a part of me that will always be there. I wonder every day how far I could have come if I had continued to practice every day. I've forgotten so many skills over the course of my 8 year break. But, the great part of learning the second time around is that things come back to you faster. I'm excited to get back into drawing (for good) and see how far I can go in the next 8 years.

To my fellow artists who are just starting out...don't give up and don't get discouraged. As long as you do what you love, you will go far in life.

[1] What do you think? Will she go for the hook?

[2] This picture was the firs time I felt truly proud of something I colored digitally.

[5] No lie, I used to be obsessed with the anime, Naruto. My mission in life at that time: make Sakura into a stronger character.
