Puerto Morelos, a peaceful village on the Mayan Riviera. It makes a perfect spot if you’re looking for someplace quieter than crazy busy area with many tourists.
Brilliantly contrasted stripes of bright green and dark blue water provides excellent conditions for all divers and snorkelers.
There’s a nice market with a good selection of crafts and handmade hammocks. The village also offers many lovely restaurants and bars with mexican cuisine and seafood with tradicional caribbean atmosphere.
I am glad I found Cantina Habanero! Located at the heart of Puerto Morelos just a couple of blocks from the beach. Home to the best food, coldest beer, most and best live entertainment, and friendliest people in Puerto Morelos.
When you enter the restaurant the first thing you see are various funny banners like "Another shitty day in paradise" which simply has to make you smile.
You can go here for a breakfast - they have some fresh juice to start. They offer eggs in many ways, French toast, sausages, bacon etc.
But I came here for lunch and some beer. As a starter I had Pico De Gallo, salsa stuff made with tomatoes, onions, squeeze of lime juice, cilantro and jalapenos. This Mexican dish is served with tacos. It was so yummy! Of course, you cannot miss guacamole here too :)
And finaly the main dish - Enchilada. Basicaly enchilada is a corn tortilla rolled around a filling and covered with a chili pepper sauce. It can be filled with a variety of ingredients, including various meats, cheese, beans, potatoes, vegetables...Mine was filled with poached chicken breasts and topped with queso fresco also with rice on the side.
It is family run and locals/expats/and tourists alike find their way here often.
Friendly location, great food, large servings and reasonable prices! It's not fancy, it's just good...
You also get the biggest and best 2 for 1 Margarita's and live music at night is an added plus!
Bottom line:
Recommend eating here at least once;)
Stay awesome and Steem on!
