Hey Steemit!
So we were really craving some dim sum the other day and had heard of this place called Dim Sum Haus from a friend and decided to check it out since we were in the area.
It's located in Jalan Besar, just a short walk from the MRT station which is on the downtown line, thankfully, so it's at least a straight line from my house.
From the outside it looks kinda small but inside there are quite many seats though some people might find it a little cramped. It's not too bad if you come by during non-peak times. We had an early dinner around 5+pm or so and we were able to get a table for 2 immediately.
Here's their menu with accompanying pictures of the delicious food! Dont click if you have an empty stomach! 🤤
We ordered some of our usual dishes like har gow and xiao long bao:
As well as my favourite, prawn in fried beancurd skin! 😋
They were really generous with the prawns and the skin was really crispy! But I think I've had some better ones elsewhere. It was still yummy though!
We also ordered 2 of their unique signature dishes:
1 was called ham kim kai siew mai, which are charcoal chicken & shrimp dumplings
Another is their pan-fried mushroom bun. Turns out it's not actually a mushroom but a bun that looks like mushroom!
But there's mushroom inside though! It wasn't too bad, maybe a little plain but definitely filling.
We also bought a drink to share, their homemade honey lemon, which had too much honey for my taste.
Even though each dish is less than $5, it can get pricey if you order too much, which frequently happens whenever eating dim sum. Luckily we ordered just enough this time!
I've posted about dimsum previously if you wanna check it out here!
Thanks for reading!
