Last night we had the first Melbourne Steemit Meetup at Father's Office. Thanks to @kevinli, @mslillypilly, @ritchieplunkett, @itstime, @mazzle, @hersnz, and @scottweston for making it a great evening.
I really liked that everyone had the common interest of steemit and crytpocurrency but also a diverse range of interests and backgrounds. I found that there were different interesting things to talk to each person about (gyms with @mazzle or biotech with @itstime or video with @kevinli etc). We even talked a little about having an Australian conference of some type at some stage in the future.
At one point we even had a random (possibly slightly drunk) dude come to inquire about steemit because him and his friends were "really into cryptocurrencies".
@kevinli recorded video of from the night including a brief intro from each of us which is up on dtube. I think it captures my feelings on the night too - meeting really great people who are enthused about Steemit.

THE NEXT ONE
- I am going to try a different day. Provisional date (unless lots of people say they can't make it) is Sunday 25 Feb. This will mean people who can't do weekday evenings can make it.
- @kevinli suggested we might look for a space that has a private room and possibly even have some kind of presentation followed by the networking/socialising.
- I'm open to suggestions on format, location, time, and any other ideas you might have.
