Last saturday and sunday, our open water diving group finally started after two months of delay due to few members cannot meet the date previously. Now the day is coming and we are very happy to learn the new knowledge. Its a truly new try and adventure for us and I am very excited for this. The knowledge that gained is a lot and for me this knowledge can give me a safe environment for next diving. Now lets see what to do before we can get into water.
Firstly, get to know the gear that we will use for diving.
This is off course the important thing which is dive tank. The tank contain weight of 12kg and oxygen weight approximately 2kg and total weight will be 14kg.
As you can see got 3000 marking on the tank, that will be a maximum oxygen can put in which is 3000psi. Approximately this 300psi tank will give you average 40 minutes underwater.
- BCD is consider as a life jacket when you on surface for floating and it also a jacket to hang your dive tank. BCD also got a function to inflat and deflat so that you can float or sink.
- this is the button to decide you are floating or ready to sink. Red button will help you to stay float and white button will let you sink down and ready for adventure.
- REGULATOR which is attached to dive tank for oxygen supply.
- This black color hose is your lifeline and most important hose because it provides you oxygen for whole diving. So before you get in to water, you must make sure this hose is not leaking otherwise you will be in dangerous.
- This yellow color hose is secondary oxygen supply which is will be use when your buddy run out of air. As normal, you need buddy to dive together so got people to look each other. Its kinda risky if you dive alone because underwater is quite a lot thing will happen and you will not know what will happen next. So instructor will always advise us go with buddy.
- dive gauge, which is will let you see your depth of diving and your oxygen level. Just now if you realised I have talked about 3000 psi oxygen content, but for some diver they will say 200 bar, which is the same meaning, just different way to call.
Next, lets roll. After done all attachment and do last check, its time to go down into water.
This is my first dive on second day. Luckily I got video to show you what is backroll. I personally like this method to get in water because looks like movie star. Haha.
- dive computer for myself today. A very expensive equipment to hands on. This is the reading of our last dive. We manage to dive in 12 metres and stay under water for 39 minutes.
and now we are certified. See the smile on my face. Such a satisfaction.
Why I so loving scuba diving? For me I love water, as long as thing that related to water, i like it a lot. I been waiting for diving such a long time and now finally I can discover ocean.
Since child, I love fish and curious about underwater creatures. This certification give me full license to discover the floor of ocean and see more creatures underwater.
If you are stressful in daily routine, diving can be your stress reliever because when you in the ocean, the quiet, the bubble sound is so nice to listen. When you see something new, you will feel happy about it. I can tell you, diving is so addictive..
Hope my sharing can let u know a bit what is diving and also can affect u to feel addicted too. 😁😁
Cheers and steem on..
