Growing TeamMalaysia | Introduction in Penang and possible Fiat Exchange accepting Steem & SBD

Its was a day of Crypto and Blockchain in Penang

I was invited to speak at my very first Crypto and Blockchain conference which happened in Penang. The idea was to give a variety of different blockchains available and of course I had the pleasure to talk about the Steem Blockchain and how its growing in users within Malaysia.

Thanks to @currykhoo and his awesome team to help get it all arranged. Cheers to @currykhoo , Lee Yen & Patricia, you were amazing !

Thanks to @killuminatic & @izyan for the support.
met a lot of new friends in Penang , tech and none tech.

The opening of course was done by the main man himself @currykhoo , some call him the Big Brother of Tech in Northern Malaysia as he has championed many Tech events within Penang and of course a good buddy to collaborate with.

Have you ever wondered how to explain how a blockchain works to uncles and aunties ?

Well.. this dude Mr Jobe did an excellent job at it. He managed to explain how and what is a ledger and then continued on to explain how the blockchain works and the use of miners in super layman terms. His examples included Buku 555 and playing Mahjong ! Kudos to him as I would never have been able to explain it the way he did.

Next in line was Kelvin from Sinegy . Possible fiat exchange for STEEM !!!

They explained what they do and how they profit from leveraging on prices of coins in different exchanges. Now whats interesting is that they would be opening a fiat exchange within the next few months. I've thrown the idea of having Steem & Steem Back Dollars integrated directly into their exchange so Steemians can transfer direct without having the currency loss. They were keen on exploring this as they do understand that there is a massive growth in the Steem community. This is something which I will surely pursue to TeamMalaysia

This is Keith who supplies mining rigs
Mr Yong was explaining the setup required on getting your mining rigs up.

Then it was Me

I was lucky that the crowd was a very interactive and entertaining crowd. It made my job easier and @killuminatic was supportive in taking photos for me. Kudos buddy !! And thanks @izyan for the amazing support as well. I do wish that i was able to join you guys for lunch and talk more.

The entire talk ended with a panel session of question & answers. From crypto wallets to security and passwords.

i could have dressed nicer in a business suit ... but heck ... i'd rather be comfortable in my shirt and jeans after all its been a long long day

After a very long day ... its time to say goodbye to Penang and head on home to Kuala Lumpur. Cheers and have a great weekend ahead.
