I usually like to spend my weekend mornings at the Subway. For some reason, seeing these vegetable filled breakfast makes me "feel" healthier despite I know the sauce and the bread will cancel off whatever good it does. Today, weren't much different except rainy at the outside. Funny thing is, does people choose to come out during rain? Before 10am and I'm already stuck at the long queue for food.
Refer to second picture, that's exactly what the breakfast menu would cost. Nowadays food price had increased by folds compare to five years ago. Heading to the Chinese shop may for a noodle soup may not be any cheaper than going for fast food chain. Like claypot noodle for example, a basic bowl would cost RM6.50 and if you decided to add an egg there goes another RM1.50 extra. Let's not forget a cup of coffee is now RM2. A simple breakfast at the local Chinese restaurant would have easily cost RM10. Had I choose not to customize my Subway breakfast, I'd be having abundance of vegetable and a chicken slice for similar price to pay and enjoy a cup of coffee, and at the end my bill would still be cheaper than the Chinese restaurant.
Here's what I had this morning. A customized wrap with 3 slices of chicken ham, 2 pouch eggs! Those extras costs me another RM4.70 but that's OK. With a cup of white coffee, the total bill came RM12.20 and I'm a happy camper for having such a feel good breakkie.
