Boiler Room Initiative

The Boiler Room Initiative is indeed a specialize workshop for Steemians to come together to create content on the spot. This initiative was started by @maverickfoo and supported by @bitrocker2020. Though today I won't go into the details of what Boiler Room is because I've actually written a detailed post about that here!

Boiler Room Initiative

This time, the Boiler Room was organized by our very own season Steemian, @joannewong. Though I'm grateful that this time, there were many seniors ready to help in this Boiler Room as facilitators. Thank you very much for taking the time to volunteer to keep the 'boiling' going.

The Facilitators

It was indeed a great success and I was so happy to see many other fellow Steemians who came and actually wants to get their head in the game of just creating content for that 3 hours. That is what Boiler Room is about! To create a conducive environment for Steemians to gather and create contents.

The amazing part was that we had an International Steemian by the ID of @fararizky joined us in this Boiler Room. She has come down from Indonesia for holiday. You can read about her Boiling experience here.

Liburan produktif bersama Team Malaysia

Saya harap boleh jumpa kamu lagi sebab masa yang sangat singkat bertemu. Harap kamu boleh datang ke Malaysia lagi ya!

Haha, translate to I hope that I would meet her again because she had to leave early. Unfortunately, I reached the Boiler Room late because I was rushing from another part of the city after church.

When the Boiler Room started, we are NOT suppose to distract one another and keep talking to a minimal, because some Steemians may lose their train of thoughts. Looking at the photo above, I hope I did not distract anyone that much. Sorry if I did!

@maverickfoo started everyone off with 25 minutes of research time. When it says 'research time', we actually have to prepare the topics we want to write beforehand. We are NOT encouraged to pick a topic that requires days or weeks of research unless we ourselves are already really knowledgable in that specific topic.

After the 25 minutes of research is up, they proceeded to do the The Most Dangerous Writing App which would actually FORCE you to write non-stop. What happens if you stop typing for awhile? Well.... your content slowly disappear and you'll have to retype everything again. There is even a hardcore mode which a certain 'someone', I won't say who....almost lost both her arms when on hardcore. Don't say I didn't warn ya!

After they were done with the clickity-clacks, they proceeded to edit and polish the whole post. It is amazing how some Steemians like @tifaong can churn out 3 POSTS during the whole Boiler Room Session.

Participants

Overall, I would say it was a success. This Boiler Room is good for those who needs the right environment to be able to be more productive. For me personally, I was being the distraction during the whole session. I need a VERY quiet environment and alone in order for me to focus on my writing. Even turning on the music will distract me from my writing and I would easily lose my train of thoughts.

But if you need that little push and peer pressure to write, you may want to consider joining us for the next Boiler Room. And definitely after that, we can all reward ourselves with good meal and chats.

Thank You
