No, we're not these ladies! Lols
After weeks of discussing about it off & on, suggested two dates (preferably after CNY), got the ladies to vote and FINALLY settled with a date, 25 February 2018 (Sun). We’re going to have a Potluck gathering! Hooray!
We’ve decided for it to be held at @patlu house because it’s located at somewhat central for everyone (TTDI).
One of the ladies @noriaakip will be bringing over the famous Salted Egg Chips directly from Singapore! Ooohhh can’t wait!
Dear God, we pray that @noriaakip will bring these babies over and our gathering will be complete!
Since we have Muslim sisters coming, the food that we will be bringing MUST BE Halal.
There will be fried beehoon sponsored by @patlu, chicken macaroni salad by me @angiechin28, Nyonya Kueh by @lianmok, mash potato (and maybe chocolate muffin) by @jedigirl, @kaeperdiem will bring bring plates/cups/forks & spoons. And the highlight of the get together will of course be the Lou Sang!
We’re looking forward for maybe satays, fried chicken, cake, pizza, fizzy drinks etc from the rest of the ladies.
To us, this is not just a gathering but also our first meet up! Most of us have been supporting and communicating over Steemit & whatsapp for a while now, so it’s kind of taking the next level, meeting everyone in the flesh!
This first Meet Up & Get Together will kickstart the many other activities that we are planning to do moving forward.
Some of us have been following personal stories & experiences that the ladies have posted on Steemit and got inspired by it, so meeting them in person is something we look forward to as we will get to know each other better!
This is the beauty of Steemit’s community, we leverage on the platform to bring out the best of each other.
And when we created the Team Malaysia Babes tag, it is not because we are breaking away from the primary group, Team Malaysia or promoting gender inequality (to some it seems somewhat an old fashion move) but rather as an extension of the main, because as ladies, we love to feel emotionally supported. There will be times and situation where we feel comfortable to talk about women matters just amongst ourselves.
Trust me, it can be draining to some men to keep up with us ladies – especially the emotional part, but I guess that’s what makes us men & women unique. Each have own preference in terms of interest or stories to share.
We have also discussed a few activities for the group (Exercise date is one of them! Perhaps we may get together for some movies, coffees, etc), including few Charity works. We will share more on this later once we finalised details. Men are welcome to join too!
