CES 2018
Consumer Electronic Show is an annual exhibition of latest consumer technology and products. This is where all the top technologies of the world is released first. CES 2018 was held on 9th - 12th January, 2018 in Las Vegas Convention Center, Nevada, USA.
Psychasec:
I stumbled upon CES when I found a weird video on YouTube showcasing Psychasec: a new age technology in which you could buy sleeves (artificially synthesized bodies) and swap your original body with the sleeve.
You could change bodies as you wish. You could choose between muscular, taller, skinnier or shorter bodies or design your own by choosing eye color and other features. this would allow humans to be immortal.
What's it made of?
This comes out as creepy considering the fact that sleeves are bodies organically grown in labs. Which means it's real flesh, organs and bones. It needs nutrients that a real human body needs for nurturing.
How does it work?
A small device they call cortisal stack is implanted in the base of our neck which records all the things that we've experienced from our birth to now, our consciousness and is stored in a file. This is then implanted to the body that we choose (artificial sleeve) which helps in controling the body.
Watch the videos below to know what it's all about:

Most who visited their booth believed that it's real.
However, it was only a marketing scheme by Netflix for their upcoming original show called Altered Carbon.
#2
To make the situation look legit, they even hired actors who pretended to protest against Psychasec outside the venue. The agency they hired the actors from even went on to print pamphlets and stickers that read "Say no to lab grown bodies."
This may be one of the craziest ways to market a TV series yet.
'In a future where humans can transfer their minds from body to body, a rebel is brought back to life to solve a twisted, high-stakes murder case.’ - Altered Carbon
The episodes are set to release on February.
What do you think would happen if such a technology is actually invented? And are you for it or against it? I would love to know your opinions.
On another note, tomorrow is 26th Jan, 2018. It is Republic day of India and I will be visiting the epic Republic day parade where Indian Armed Forces will be showcasing their military weapons and there will also be various performances like air shows. Very excited for tomorrow.
Cheers!
