How I became a Steemian- My Story
Q
What was your life before steemit?
A
A few years before Steemit I had a career in Community Development, developing social businesses charities and enterprises. When I got made redundant in 2013 I became self employed as a consultant, then a market trader, then a tarot teacher and also a personal Development coach.
BUT the real change came when I started to write a book in 2015. I had played around with blogging before hand and already had a blog....bloggingitlikeagoddess.....I found a love for lifestyle blogging, and did just that. I blogged around different themes linking them to Greek Goddesses. I dreamed that I could get paid for doing JUST that.
Q
How were you introduced to Steemit & who introduced you here?
A
In November 2016 I decided to become an accredited Law Of Attraction Coach and realised that this was one vision I needed to create. Anyway my friend @michelle.gent had been on my back to join Steemit and although I had already joined in the September I wasn't blogging...I just wasn't feeling it. I had done one post for Steemit, a review on 50 shades of grey which was a bit slapstick, but it was my first blog on this site and my previous site.
Anyway I went on a trip to Iceland and I sort of had an epiphany and I started my 362 experiment. I cant tell you much about the experiment as that would be a complete spoiler BUT Steemit has become a big part of my social experiment . Accidently.
My vision worked. I was being PAID to write themed blogs of my choice.
Q
What's your channel topic?
A
You can see my themes on my blog but they are:
Philosophy & life
Wellbeing
Tarot teachings
Travel
Lifestyle and Humour
I also have an alter ego in @aubreyfox who is my pseudonym author name. She does the following themes.
Limerick of the day
Short stories
Film & Book reviews
Poetry
Q
What are your hobbies and interests?
A
Writing...I am a creative writing and Philosophy student and studied social research which is why Steemit is sooooooooo perfect for me. I love to socialise with my friends to travel and basically everything on my themes. Oh and my family and pets are my number one priority. I am also the owner of a small theatre company and I write scripts and novels. This is business and pleasure!
Q
What are your best and worst experiences here?
A
Best: To just be able to write and share and meet people from all different culture. I find it fascinating. Plus there is not so much trolling or bad energy on here as there is on a lot of social media. Oh and it has paid for 3 trips away!
Worst: There is no real balance with good content...but that's life....hopefully I can work my way up to support good content of others that are left in the shadows.
Q
How is life after steemit?
A
Its another level. I no longer feel the need to scrawl through endless rubbish on Facebook to learn more about the world or or cram everything into a sentence on twitter to promote my work. It has helped me channel my studies as I am part way through my degree and I am now hopeful that one day I can make a well paid career out of blogging.
Thank you to @michelle.gent . May not have listened at first but listening now!
