All Festivals are a time of Joy, Bonding and Togetherness. The spirit and excitement of festivals is quite infectious. Even if you are not the one celebrating that particular festival, the energy and mood around magnetically pulls you to it.
These are the times when you want to do something different apart from your regular routines. You either spend time visiting family members or hosting family gatherings. Festivals are time of Hope, Gratitude, Sharing, Love, Happiness.
Christmas is not my Festival, but I believe in celebrating all Festivals and so am I celebrating this one also as always year after year.
I have a mini Christmas Tree, which I put up every year. This year I have surrounded it with all my home made candles.
What am I doing on Christmas? 🎄🎅
This Christmas is a little special and different for me, since I have some of my relatives come over for a holiday to Muscat and staying with us. Normally my Christmas is spending time out with friends or a family dinner to a restaurant. But since we have relatives home, and they are here for the first time for a short period, we decided to spend first half of the day taking them out somewhere sightseeing and then later in the evening go out for a Dinner. Actually I am feeling very happy. It's such a good feeling when you have your family members with you on a festival in a foreign land.
So eventually we took them to the Sultan Palace and then a drive towards the beach and the local market of Muscat. They were quite mesmerized by the beauty of this place and did not expect that Oman was so beautiful. They live in London and they found Muscat much better as a place to live then London. Of course in a couple of days you cannot judge but it is the energetic pull of this place which I see many people falling in love with it at first sight.
This picture is taken outside the Sultan Palace. We cannot get inside, just get the outer look. Our oldest family member, our aunt is now 85 years old. She is very fit and can give us all a run. The previous day we visited one of the caves and there were almost 100 steps to climb. She came all the way up with us, which we all thought she would not make it. Hats off to her energy level.
Afternoon we were home for our Lunch, which my husband prepared Chicken Curry Rice a very traditional Indian dish and along with it some Masala Prawns. It was a treat and along with some Beer and Wine we had a gala time with all our family talks, cheer and laughter.
Now some rest time and late evening we all plan to go out for a dinner to a Asian cuisine restaurant. It is one of my Husband's favorite so we decided to give our guest a taste of the place. So far the day has been fantastic and I am sure the rest of the day too will be spent in high spirits and cheer. 💖😍🎄🎅
