(Draw by my son: I never tell him about steemit. Yet he drawn an ocean world by adding in a robot... amazing!)
Chatting is one of my favourite thing to do, especially when it comes to topic related with green, or environmental conservation. I love to share the green ideas with my fellow friends (most of the time) in my daily life! This is why I am called the green chatterbox.
Right after my graduation as a young lady soon step into industrial world as an engineer and later become a mum with a boy to travel (expatriation) with my husband along globally and now settled down with another boy. I am still continue my love sharing personalities as chatterbox in my life and now with steemit.
I still remember I used to have a nickname as Radio during my school time. When i joined a charity club under the recycling group, I am the chatterbox that keep repeating the environmental issues during our campaign, non stop sharing during group sharing, even broadcast the environmental health concerns from door to door, to my fellow uni mates while doing our monthly recycle items collection (which the fund is raised for charity). I know it seems talkative and restless sometimes annoying but I truly hope that there will be more people to practice the green habit and to help save our mother earth! This is the driving motive for my passion to share so we can move forward to a better world of tomorrow. In another words, I hope to influence more people to raise the awareness of taking care of our environment, and by educating people so that everyone can play their role too.
Now as a mum I love to share those quick and easy healthy meal. My recipe is simple and it is easy to suit the kids' taste so we can make them love these green leafy meals at the same time encourage them to eat less meat (at the same time, it can conserve energy. ) Some of us may not realise that by eating less meat we are actually helping the earth too. By reducing the meat industry demand, there are more food can be produced to serve the world population (7kg of grains in order to produce 1kg of beef). I believe when the demand is keep in a healthy range, the farmer will not solely be profit oriented then free range animal agriculture will have room to grow, eventually the farms will not be just another meat factory.
(Draw by my son: all about animals!)
For my house chores, i use rain water to clean floor, flush toilet, and water the plants. This can conserve our precious natural water. I make my own green detergent and shampoo by soda bicarbonate, I think this is marvellous as it does not contains any toxic which will eventually go into our ocean! We know that detergent is harmful to sea creatures and also destroy the aquatic system and marine life.
I also practice kitchen waste management, which can be reproduced as composition or organic fertiliser so to get rid of chemical ingredients which will go into our soil and eventually to our food. Nonetheless, our whole family (even my boy) is aware of recycling bin disposal at home where the recyclable waste will be placed. Home is the best place to educate our children, and even our parents.
I always put my own food container in my car, just in case if I want to buy food, I can just use them, so no polystyrene or plastic bags need to be wasted. We also use shared resources, for examples we go to library for books, we do toys sharing or exchange among siblings and friends. Furthermore, we love to buy from garage sales, we feel glad to give those old items a second chance. This is all very good green habits that everyone should practice. We also need to reduce plastics usage as it cannot be degraded, which will remain there for a very long time. Always remember that plastic is not degradable!
When traveling overseas I always seek for the green option! The green idea always the first thing which come into my mind. Just like when i was in Switzerland Zurich, i rented a bike to go round the city. This can let me explore around at my own pace meanwhile there is no carbon footprint left behind.
Although I still feel pity that my puppy love ended because of refusal to use tissues to keep myself dry (which is not romantic at all)... but another hand I feel glad that I met my man during a recycle activity and we shared the same goal in our life. We care for the environment!!
During my first job I do not simply buy unnecessary stuff and even until today I still practice it. This principal is very important, the reason I said so is because many people tend to buy things they like but not necessary. We must always ask ourself before we buy things: are we in need to buy or simply because I like to buy.
This can dramatically change ones buying habits. In another way, this can save money too, so why not!
As an engineer, I love my job because it was always about optimising the factory production input and output, proper planning and troubleshooting to repair and restore machines for better robust and durability, and eventually to improve efficiency. This is another place where green ideas can play a role here.
For my son, I provide them handkerchief rather than tissues. I know tissues is convenient but it is burden to our environment.
During our spare time, we use those recyclable items to do artworks. Kids enjoy it a lot, and it also boost our creativity!! What an excellent activity!
Please love Mother Earth! Rethink our habits and readjust our daily lifestyle to help for less pollution to our lovely earth!! Look, the forest is the green lungs of earth, it cleanse our air and it acts like an natural air conditioning to our earth.
By the way, I love singing as well!! It is a very green hobby as nothing need to be purchased!! I can sing everywhere anytime without any tools!! I love this pleasant feeling!! While singing I feel relax and happy! Now there are a lot of apps for me to sing at home!! Not like the old times, that we need to get ourself to the club to sing and it is not common to record it. Now thanks to the technology, we can sing like a star at home especially in our shower room. Lol!!
Well, I just can't help but relates all of my life to be environmental friendly! By then I feel contented and happy about my passionate to keep a clean earth for our next generation ! Together we seek for and work it out for green energy alternative!
Last but not least, just share a phrase that I saw in the youth hostel, "until the last fish has died, the last tree has gone, only we notice that we cannot eat money." So let us work together to save our one and only earth.
