Relationship is a very serious thing but a lot of people take it with levity, thinking it is all about the kissing and making love. Relationship requires a lot of hard work, commitment and level head consideration.
This post is to address what the man is expected to do. Don’t get it wrong, the onus is not resting only on the man, but on both parties, and both parties need to work hand in hand to make the relationship work. After this series, I will also speak on few things to note for the ladies, and as usual, both partners can adopt it too.
Take your time and choose the right person for you. The truth is, there is no person with the tag “right person”, and we are all a work in progress. You make an imperfect person and make that person right for you. We all have flaws, we all have weaknesses, and we should go with someone whose weakness is easy to bear and whom we can accommodate even with their excesses.
Take your time. There is no need to rush. Marriage or dating is not a race or a competition where you need to keep up. You need to be very sure. You are not to date someone because you have to, just take your time. You don’t need to yield to pressure. I know a lot of ladies face this pressure more, but this is for the guys this time around.
A lot of guys desire to date just to fuel their ego. You don’t need to. A lot of societal factors come into play too, but you don’t need to rush. You need to be ready first. Be ready in every capacity; socially, physically, financially, morally, mentally and every other aspect of life that comes to you. Like I always say, relationship requires a lot of commitment and you need to be ready. It is hard to give your best when you picked your partner because of the need to just have someone.
It is your life, so you don’t need to be rushed. They won’t be the one to be in marriage with you or the relationship, so make it entirely your decision, your choice and on your terms. Take your time. Everything is subject to time, so if you take your time, you will be able to know the stuff she is made up. You will be able to know certain things about her further than the surface, and you will be able to unveil the little buried under, which you might not be able to know instantly with sudden rush of emotions and pressure. Take your time, because your life is on the line too. Have a little bit of decency where you don’t have to break her heart just because you “thought she was the one”, when you are able to see her as she is, which you were not prepared for at that time. This is why I stressed the importance of being ready in every area.
