I haven't been to the Florida Keys since 2006. I still love to visit, especially Key West, right before Spring Break so it's neither too hot nor too crowded with drunken rowdy kids. Fall is nice too but not the best place to be during hurricane season. I flew to Ft. Lauderdale from National (DC) then took a puddle-jumper down to the Keys.
Driving anywhere in the Florida Keys, you see these tiny deer. They are Odocoileus virginianus clavium, an endangered species and the smallest deer in North America. You're not supposed to feed them but everyone does because they're so cute. Wikipedia

Went to the local gay bar my first night there, talked with the bartender for hours as the whole town is pretty vacant in early March. Went upstairs to catch a drag show.

And Ernest Hemmingway's house. I only took pictures from the outside because it felt kind of dirty that they were charging $11 for tours.
