In one week, if all goes well, we should have the keys to our new house š
With 5 days left in Hubby's holidays and my Steeming all the way through the last couple of weeks we decided to make an effort to spend time together today at one of our favourite places in Katoomba, Lilianfels.
We have a long history and fond memories here. We actually got engaged here.
Perhaps it's because they never disappoint in all areas, from food to service to accommodation (these guys know what's up) that we keep coming back.
As you walk in you are welcome by the door man and greeted by a magnificent floral arrangement. In the past we have seen lillies grace this round table, today it was nice to see this arrangement.
What would you call this type of floral arrangement? Is it Native? Australiana? What ever it is, I love the grounded feeling I get from it.
Computers available for guest use are so convenient, and located at the foyer.
As you walk toward the bar you can't help but notice the two big framed art works that tie in with the floral arrangement.
Along the side of where the map of Australia is, is a corridor filled with art.
So many reasons to love this place ā¤
3 years ago we sat at this bar for the first time to discuss our rental options.
Now we're back, but discussing the impending move.
I think it's starting to click that we are finally achieving our goal of having our own house.
Obviously drinks are in order..
A Bloody Mary for hubby and a glass of 2015 Moonchild for me.
The moment I read Moonchild I knew this was the one for me. It was brilliant too and bonus points for being a local wine.
After much deliberation and jealousy at the other patrons, we decided to finally try the High Tea.
It was packed for a Wednesday afternoon and it was as if every other table had a food tower.
I wanted a food tower.
It's been hellish temps down under these last few days. I haven't had the appetite to eat or felt comfortable enough to sleep more than a couple of hours, hubby has been the same, so a food tower of assorted goodies seemed like the best choice.
To prepare for the tower, we switched to more luxurious seats by one of the windows.
Did I say I love this place?
Those seats were so plush and comfy, my tired ass wanted to pass out.
But then the food came...
Top to bottom..
Yeh man!!
Sensory overload! Colours, smells, taste, textures!
And tea, beautiful green tea.
It was a good way to spend the day, the food, service and everything is as per it's usual 5 star standard
In many ways today's felt like the calm before the storm, literally since this is the state of things up in Katoomba today.
It's a welcome break from the intense heat, apparently it will be raining some more.
Hopefully it will be fine come moving day because this is insane.
I hope you're all having a great Wednesday.
