Now with just a few things missing, I am going with my girlfriend to purchase the last few stuff we need for the bike tour from Hong Kong to France.
Our gears in the final setup will be as follows.
- Giant Escape 1 Bike
- Backrack with extra spoke for attaching rear panniers
- Leather seat for me and female gel seat for her
- Waterproof front bag for storing food and drinks.
- Front racks for additional bags if we need them during our travel. They are also useful for my Yamaha travel guitar.
- Lots of bungee elastic strings to bind the luggage.
- Rear pannier sets for two
- Gloves for biking
- Helmets
- Holders for the bottles on bike
- Numerous tools and gears for bike repair and adjustment
- Swiss knife which is a must for all long term travellers. You save money for buying one tool than many.
- Camping gears, tent, mattress, blanket
- Clothes, minimal, just summer clothes cause we buy winter clothes or ship them from home when needed. Three T-shirts, two shirts, three set of socks and underwear, hiking shoes, slippers and sandals, one pair of long trousers plus swim gear such as goggles and swim shorts. That's it. No more needed.
- Lots of large and small plastic bags to protect stuff from rain.
- Big backpack for hiking.
I think it is a minimal setup for a worldtrip that will last for more than a year. I got already most of the stuff and today will be hopefully the last day to get the rest.
