One more look at Budapest busy streets. This time we focus on party, leisure and nightlife. I got the impression people there never sleep. Must be just our neighbourhood!
We didn’t need to be picky since private room in a hostel is pretty cheap, even by Croatian standards. Go and take a look at Maverick. I think @lordvader would feel nice and cosy there! I did my Storm Trooper duty!
Are you really only interested in beer when you travel? No? It must be just me. But if you are, there are plenty of options. Abundance of craft bars around with Hungarian best!
I really liked Akvarium club. Live music, beer & food. Perfect place to chill out with friends during the day. And then come back for another round of partying at night. It is right next to Budapest Eye, one of the popular meeting points for locals and travellers alike.
The focus of Budapest’s nightlife action is around Gozsdu Courtyard, a series of passageways and courtyards. Beer gardens if you will. Once the center place of the old Jewish quarter of the city, it’s made up of skillfully renovated former stores and workshops and is a hugely popular hangout for locals littered with bars, restaurants, pubs and cafés.
One of the unique offerings are Ruin Pubs. Basically, derelict buildings and unused outdoor spaces have been turned into frenzied bars that serve budget drink and give off a lively and friendly atmosphere. Sound hipsterish? Think of them as the equivalent of your favorite local pub back home. Hang out, meet friends, and drink before heading off to a club or out to eat. If you are brave you can even stay in hostels above the bars.
