Let’s go straight to the point: pros and cons of visiting Croatian seaside and Istria peninsula!
A street in Novigrad City
Pros
- Genuine, mostly untouched nature
- Wannabe European culture which is as close to Europe as it can possibly be
- Good traffic connections. We can debate the price of highway but it does the job well
- Food, beer and wine
- Croatian women - it’s all a preference but I find Slavic women quite pretty. Melania Trump comes to mind. She is Slovenian, a same street neighbor with Istrians
- affordable prices compared to more luxurious destinations in Croatia (Dubrovnik, Hvar)
- rich cultural heritage, amphitheater in Pula, hilltop towns such as Motovun, Roč, Hum
- many, many film and music festivals
- most people, especially the young, speak decent English
Cons
- You could go to a more exotic place such as Indonesia
- marijuana and prostitution are not legalized
- hillbilly minority of population
- you will stand out - 99% of homogeneous White Croatian Catholics
- Favorit - most popular macro lager - Yuck!

Beer
San Servolo - not the best but one of longer existing craft breweries in Croatia, I hope to review it soon. Istria boasts to be a land of wine!

Food
Truffle based dishes are a delicacy!
