The weather was perfect and I started out walking the entire coast line in the sand because the tide was low and it was possible to pass. To go back I planned to take the route through the nature reserve Swin. Little did I know the way back was completely blocked at some point because the are working in the reserve. I ended up climbing some fences in the hope to be able to reach where I was parked but ended up still on the wrong side of the tide. This forced me to walk all the way back to knokke and actually walk the road used by the cars to get where I was parked. 10km extra after having already walked over 25km.
I got surprised by my social skills (or I jut got lucky) since I wanted to find a way to get a ride back and forced myself to talk to everyone that passed me by and use some of my emotional intelligence to make them want to help me which actually worked.
I walked for over 5 straight hours with only some water and an apple to eat but never at any point got tired, hungry, discouraged or in pain which is a really good sign my whole food plant-based diet along with daily exercise are having a huge positive impact.
Overall it was a fun and memorable day despite being able to share it with anyone as I did it alone. It definitely sparks my interet to do some more travelling towards the future.
