Kampa Island After a big fire, when almost the entire city burned down, everything that had survived and managed to be saved was brought to the island. From this moment on the island begins the mass construction of houses. However, wealthy people were afraid that over time the island could go under water, and were in no hurry to invest their investments in such dubious construction. Therefore, artisans settle here. Formed shopping area has become a major market. Currently, there are five mills on Kampa Island, but only two of them have wheels.

Panoramic view of a part of the city of Prague as seen from Divci Hrady, a beautiful lookout spot located just above the bank of the Vltava River. This place is not famous among tourists so it is a true hidden gem of Prague.

This church (precisely basilice minor) is the most valuable building of the city part Stare Brno. It is said that the queen Eliska Richenza was thinking where new monastery with a church should stand. She got an idea that the chance decides it. She threw a flag out of the window of the Spilberk castle. A moderate wind was at the moment and the flag fell immediately at the foot of the Spilberk hill.

Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, Dolní Chabry, Prague. Today's church dates back to the mid-12th century. It was restored after the Hussite wars and after the Thirty Years' War. But under this church are the foundations of the three previous churches from the 11th century. At that time, they compete with St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle. This territory is the original heart of the Czechs and the Premyslids.

Photo depicts a historical celebration in the city of Pilsen, specifically the conquest of the city by General Mansfeld in 1618 at the beginning of the Thirty Years War. Historical festivals are very popular in Pilsen and bring us interesting events from different periods. In addition to historical costumes, we can also see a number of ancient houses on Republic Square.

Nice view over St. Vitus Cathedral from the other side of the river Vltava. We visited Prague during the Ice Hockey World Championships in 2015. We had a blast! We'll probably visit Czech Republic again in the near future!

Even in the Czech Republic we have very beautiful places and these include Šumava. When spring is added to it, it is even more beautiful everywhere. I love the fresh spring green.

For a long time, the church of St. Wojciech, founded in the XI century, was the main church of Usti nad Labem. But in 1538 it was destroyed by fire. The temple was restored only at the beginning of the XVII century by the monastic Dominican order. In the tower of the church of St. Wojciech there are two bells that were brought here from other temples. This is the bell of 1554, which was previously in the church of St. Nicholas in Třebushin, and the product, dated 1648, which adorned the church of St. Wenceslas in Blizhvedli.
