This is in Valparaíso, a charming city on Chile's coast. It's called Chile's Cultural Capital due to its booming art and culture scene. I took the steep funicular to a hilltop and shot this photo. Along the ride, I got fantastic views of the colorful buildings, the hills, the port and the vast Pacific ocean.
Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.
Please see the winners of the previous contests of the week and give them your support if you like their images to be the one winning the weekly price and entering the other stages of the 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge. You can vote for them by upvoting their winner announcement posts below:

@travelshots Asian Sunday entry:
The "Starlight Bridge" is located at the outskirts of Saigon, in a very quiet, modern quarter that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Once the sun has set, the bridge transforms into an artificial waterfall that is illuminated in bright colours - simply adorable!
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Australian Monday week #78 - winner announcement!
@fotogruppemunich Australian Monday entry:
My picture was taken in sydney last winter. It was a great moment during the sunset at the harbor to walk and enjoy the beauty of the city. I was lucky that the sun went down just behind the showboat.
@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:
Qurator's Photo Friday #67 - Purple Dream. Sunset at some alien planet out there in the endless Universe. In fact this is winter sunset at Baltic Sea taken through Singh-Ray color polariser. A touch of long exposure brings even more surrealism to the final result. Enjoy it!
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #78 - winner announcement!
@vcclothing African Wednesday entry:
On a recent trip to Namibia we got to climb dune 45. Dune 45 is part of the world's largest sand dunes, located in the Sossusvlei desert. We climbed up it at sunrise, it was amazing climbing up through the morning fog, then to watch it all clear away and realised how high up we actually were.
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #78 - winner announcement!
@itchyfeetdonica European Thursday entry:
You might have heard of Neuschwanstein Castle, which inspired Sleeping Beauty’s castle in Disneyland? This famous palace was commisioned by King Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat on a rugged cliff in 1868. What impressed me the most was how it blended into the stunning natural settings around.
7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - North American Friday week #78 - winner announcement!
@irvinesimages North American Friday entry:
One Cloud Day. During the Monsoon Season convection can occur at any time of day or night depending on conditions. The most beautiful time of course is around sunset, but more often than not the light is blocked by clouds. This isolated early stage thunderstorm formed quickly in the late day heat, fully exposed to the setting sun. Revealing the nature of the storm.
