Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc, Czech Republic - World Unesco Heritage Site

Hello friends,

One of the most beautiful wonders of the Northern Moravian city of Olomouc is its Holy Trinity Column. The Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc is the largest free-standing Baroque sculpture in Central Europe. The column is 35meters high and was built between 1716 and 1754 in honor of God, the Catholic Church and the faith and as thanksgiving for the ending of a plague which had ravaged Moravia between the years 1713 and 1715. Located about 2 and 1/2 hour train ride outside Prague makes this a perfect place to visit if you want to explore more then the capital! Cities like Olomouc are still unspoiled by a mass tourism and are considered to be the real hidden gems (Ten hidden gems of Europe).
