Dear Steemit friends and followers,
Welcome to my Travel Tip edition where I promote some of the most beautiful places and landmarks of my homeland, the Czech Republic.
Today, I will surely please all architecture enthusiasts as I decided to dedicate this post to one of the most famous and photographed buildings in Prague, the Church of St. Nicholas.

Located in the Lesser Town (“Mala Strana” in the Czech language) of the historic center of Prague, this monumental Baroque church was built between 1704 and 1755 but in fact, there was a Gothic church (also dedicated to St. Nicholas) on the very same spot since as early as the 13th century.

Designed by the renowned Bavarian architect Christoph Dientzenhofer, the church is topped with a huge green dome, which makes this unique piece of architecture easily recognizable even from a long distance.

The Church of St. Nicholas has long been one of the most popular tourist attractions of Prague but the parish church is still active, celebrating weekly Sunday masses at 8:30 am. The church is open to visitors every day. The entrance fee is currently 70 CZK (approximately 3 USD or 3 EUR).
