Utah's Great Salt Lake As Seen From The Air

The Great Salt Lake, is found in the Northern part of the United States. It is part of beautiful Utah State. The Western Hemisphere has no other salt water lake of it's size. Since it has no access to drain into the ocean, it is considered a terminal lake. It's only source of drainage is evaporation. It is the eighth largest lake of this kind throughout the world.

The Great Salt Lake Park provides a large park for family activities. There are picnic areas, swimming areas, fishing spots, and hiking trails for all ages. There are boat launches for motor boats and plenty of easy access for the kayaks and canoes. This is an important location for those who enjoy bird watching. Many larger migratory birds can be seen in this area, as they migrate back and forth.

The Great Salt Lake is over two times saltier than the ocean, and in places, up to seven times. Bison roam this area, and many times can be seen on the way into the park. If you enjoy wildlife, birds,  and camping, this a fantastic place. The campground is open year around. It will accommodate RV's up to 40 feet. Also nearby are Wasatch National Forest with it's many hiking trails, Park City, and Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort.  Park City and Snowbird Ski Resort have excellent slopes for winter fun. They also have many activities for summer fun at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort.

If you are looking for a Western Vacation that will be different every season, Utah will delight you. With it's wide range of activities for all ages, it is a great place for a family adventure.
