Exploring West Quoddy Head, Lubec of North East Maine

West Quoddy Head Lighthouse to guide ships through the Quoddy Narrows in Lubec Maine

In the most farthest corner of North East Maine you find the quant and friendly town of Lubec. Just outside of the town about  12 miles is Quoddy Head State Park. There you will find this active lighthouse still being used today.

You can hear the active fog horn steering the ships away from the rocky shoreline.

As you can see the foggy days make this light house a must have even in today's modern society. So next time when you travel within the East coast of the USA you might want to check out the light houses of Maine.
