Spectacular Red Granite At Red Beach Wharf Maine

Eastern Maine Has Amazing Red Beach Full Of  Beautiful Red Granite

Near the town of Red Beach there are mile and miles of unique red granite beaches. Here, you can take a walk, or bike down the shore discovering all the different types of granite. The granite comes from molten lava over the centuries. It forms a red bedrock which breaks into pieces of granite.  The slower the lava cooled the more unique red granite it formed. The grain is a lot larger and one side is so clean that it's beauty shines.  Some of the nice large chunks of granite are left over from the 1800's and 1900's when there were quarrying operations here.  All over the east coast are monuments and buildings made from this fantastic rock.
