Hi Steemit
Last week when exploring Kampot we discovered that one of the unique things you could go and see were pepper plantations. I had never really thought of going to a pepper plantation before but it actually turned out to be a really enjoyable day out.
We got recommended to visit a plantation a little out of town called La Plantation and they provided a free tour of the farm and gave you so much information about different types of peppers that I never knew existed ! Being from England we only use black and maybe white pepper but there are so many different types such as red and green. I'll provide you wish a link to their website here so you can read about the whole project.
Here's a quick bit of information about the plantation. La Plantation is an organic pepper plantation so we learnt all about the products they use to protect the plants from diseases and animals all organically. They are basically using an old Cambodian recipe based from a load of different plants from the surrounding areas and cow poo. They also do charity work for a local school providing them with funds and help with building roads enabling children with an easier journey to and from school.
Here's a map so you can find them from Kampot town.
I also recorded a video from our trip to the pepper plantation and i'll upload that to dtube in the coming days when the wifi wants to upload it haha.
Thanks for reading,
Ben
