The territory of the Abruzzo National Parks consists mainly of mountains of altitude ranging between 2952 ft and 7217 ft. The mountains of the Park have a varied and interesting landscape where alternate roundwood peaks, typical of the Apennines, on slopes huddled by the typical alpine aspect. The central part of the Park is run by the River Sangro.
Fortunately, tourism has not ruined nature and climbing the mountains takes breath away
Hiking starts very early in the morning and lasts all day. The trails are very long and require a little workout.
Wide, sunny, narrow and suggestive valleys; lakes, forests and if you are lucky you can see various animals such as chamois, wild boar, fox and sometimes the bear. Abruzzo has maintained wild features despite the tourists.
The only bad thing we had was the breaking of a sole of my friend who we repaired with a provisional solution.
Beautiful park, suitable for the whole family. There are simple or challenging hikes, horseback riding, bike itineraries, wildlife areas, museums dedicated to protected species; in winter you can find cross-country skiing tracks as well .... nothing is missing.
ENJOY ITALY AND ABRUZZO NATIONAL PARK!
