Penang is one of the most popular cities in Malaysia. I went there for a 3-days short trip. As an serious foodaholic, I usually take photos of the food I tried. So I simply record down the yummy food I enjoyed there at George Town.
槟城是马来西亚最著名的城市之一,我之前去了3天的短途旅行。作为一名认真的吃货,我喜欢拍各种食物的照片,所以也记录下了尝过的槟城乔治区的美食。
- Maggi Goreng with an Fried Egg + Teh Tarik 印度式炒快熟面+拉茶
Maggi Goreng is an famous Indian food. It is a style of fried instant noodle, commonly in Indian food stalls in Malaysia and
Singapore.
The drink beside is called Teh Tarik, which has been considered as Malaysian national drink. It is hot milk tea, made from black
tea, condensed milk and evaporated milk. The name is derived from the process of "pulling" the drink.
印度风味炒快熟面在印度档口里是很受欢迎的,在马来西亚和新加坡的印度档口里也很常见。
旁边的饮品是叫做拉茶,可以被称作最能代表马来西亚的饮品。它是由红茶、炼乳和淡奶一起制成的热奶茶。之所以被叫做拉茶,是因为制茶的过程中有一个经典的“拉”的动作。
- Cendol 煎蕊
Cendol is an iced dessert containing droplets of worm-like green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar syrup. It is commonly found in Southeast Asia countries.
煎蕊是一种冰凉的甜品,里面有绿色的糯米条,吃起来有果冻的口感,还有椰奶和椰糖浆,在东南亚国家很常见。
- Char Kway Teow 炒粿条
Char Kway Teow is signature food in Penang. It is stir-fried rice noodles, with light or dark soy sauce, chilli, prawns, blood cockles, bean sprouts and Chinese chives. It is an nationally favourite food in Malaysia and Singapore now.
炒粿条是槟城的代表性食物,米条、酱油、辣椒、虾、血蛤、豆芽和韭菜一起翻炒。现在成为了马来西亚和新加坡非常受欢迎的食物。
- Popiah 薄饼
Popiah is from southern of China, Fujian Province. The skin is soft and thin, filling with bean sprouts and other ingredients.
薄饼是源自于中国南方的福建省。薄饼的皮又软又薄,里面放了豆芽和其他的原料。
- Wheeler's Coffee @ Love Lane (自行车上的咖啡厅?)
Wheeler's Coffee is one of the cafe nested in Love Lane. I was attracted by the design of bicycle art.
这个咖啡厅坐落于爱情巷,我是被它的自行车主题的设计所吸引。
- Guilinggao 龟苓膏
It is a jelly style Chinese medicine, found in Guangdong and Guangxi Province, also known as a dessert commonly. As a dessert, it does not contain turtle shell powder but use the same herbal additives and marketed for good skin complexation.
龟苓膏是中国广东广西的传统药用食品,现在更常作为一种甜品。作为甜品,它不包含龟壳分,但是还是使用一样的中药原料,也以对皮肤好作为市场的卖点。
- Satay and Oyster Omelette 沙爹和蚝煎
Satay is skewered and grilled meat in Indonesian style, served with sauce.
Oyster Omelette is from southeastern China. The dish consists of small oysters with and omelette. Chilli sauce is always added.
沙爹是一种印尼烤串,配有沙爹酱。

While having drinks above the city, it is easier to enjoy Penang's spectacular city view here. It is also the first rooftop bar in Georgetown.
在享受饮品的同时,在这里更容易俯瞰整个槟城的壮观的城市风景,它也是乔治区第一家屋顶酒吧。
- Seafood - Sambal Shrimp 海鲜-叄岜虾
Sambal is a hot sauce with various chilli peppers, shrimp paste, fish sauce, garlic, ginger, etc. It is often used in Nyonya dishes.
叄岜酱是一种辣椒酱,里面有各种辣椒、虾酱、鱼露、蒜、姜等, 经常用于娘惹菜中。
- Seafood - Sambal Stingray 海鲜-叄岜魔鬼鱼
The dish is a barbecued stingray with sambal sauce atop.
叄岜魔鬼鱼,顾名思义是用叄岜酱烤魔鬼鱼,也可以称为铁板烧鱼。
- Ming Xiang Tai Pastry Shop - Eggtart, Char Siew Pau 名香泰饼家-蛋挞,叉烧包
Ming Xiang Tai Pastry Shop is a traditional Cantonese dim sum shop. It is famous for its Trishaw Egg Tart, Ka Char Siew Pau and other pastries. Except for pastries, there are also soy milk, soy beancurd, guilinggao and other selections.
名香泰饼家是传承三代的古早味广式点心店,最有名的莫过于三轮车蛋挞和古早味叉烧酥。除了酥饼,还有豆奶、豆花、龟苓膏等一起搭配。
- Tandoori Chicken with Naan印度烤鸡烤饼套餐
Tandoori chicken is roasted chicken with some spice and yoghurt in a tandoor oven. It is originating from India and become popular in other parts of the world.
印度烤鸡是用香料和乳酪把鸡腌制成红色,然后放在泥窑内烤至而成的。它起源于印度,现在也逐渐发展至世界各地。
- Asam Laksa亚参叻沙
Asam Laksa is also a kind of signature food of Malaysia. It is sour, fish and tamarind soup, made with shredded fish, sliced vegetables and thick shrimp paste. Penang Asam Laksa ranked 7th on world's 50 most delicious foods compiled by CNN GO in 2001.
亚参叻沙也是马来西亚的代表性美食,它是略带酸味、由鱼熬制的浓汤,里面有很多种蔬菜条还有浓厚的虾膏。在2001年,槟城亚参叻沙被CNN GO评为全球50大美食中的第7位。
