Before heading down to Tokyo for this latest trip, I polled my followers to see what they wanted to see.
The results:
- GODZILLA
- CUTE SHIT LIKE PIKACHU
- GEEKY STUFF - VIDEO GAMES AND ARCADES
- TOKYO SKY TREE
- NEON LIGHTS
- “TOKYO HENTAI CLUB”
...AMONG OTHERS!
Well, here at KafkA Blogs, Inc. we aim to please! Come along with me as I take Tokyo as per my fellow Steemians’ request as best I can!
Godzilla
This request from @sulev may have been meant as a joke. But it just so happens...
...that he’s hanging out in Kabukicho right now.
Kawaii Culture / Geek Culture
A bevy of Kirby’s at the arcade.
Cute animé chicks inviting you to blow all your money on Japanese pinball.
I actually made a short vid for the Steemian (@kaliju) who requested this! This one also includes some neon lights and geeky stuff. Pikachu was also requested by @cryptic-cynic. Looking back now, though, I should’ve actually jumped in and played a few video games! What the fuck was I thinking!? Well, probably about a million different things like: I’m hungry. I have to pee. Wow, lights. Video games. I need to find a Pikachu hat. There’s a maid speaking English now, trying to get me to come into that maid café over there. Lights. Loud, high-pitched voices instructing me to buy all manner of shit, loudly. Too many tourists. Do I look as dopey and fucking clueless as they do? SHINY LIGHTS! I should go to the owl café. No. They just fucking keep the owls tied up in a room. Fuck that. Wow, sexy animé chicks. Shiny lights! Anyway, all that notwithstanding, here’s a tiny glimpse of Akihabara’s “Electric Town.”
Skytree, No See.
Really sorry about this, @muhasib, but when I got to Skytree today, it was shrouded in an ominous mist. I was gonna go ahead and go up anyway, but the woman at the ticket counter spoke to me in English and made me laugh:
One?
Yes. One ticket, please.
You can’t see anything.
Okay. Thank you for telling me that. No ticket please.
I ended up leaving, not wanting to spend the 25 dollars I would have to pay for admission to stare at the inside of a cloud.
I did take this pic though, from the base. It’s an absolutely massive structure, and the tallest tower in the world.
Tokyo Hentai Club
As I am a happily married man, I will have to leave that exploration up to you, @funbobby. In lieu of that, here’s a pic of some potatoes because some reason.
That’s it!
No Bitcoin ATMs this time or Tokyo Disney (I can’t really stomach Disney to be honest) but I hope the documentation was at least somewhat satisfactory!
