There is something special about live music that I LOVE and I prefer small venues where I can actually see the musicians. To me they don't have to be "famous" to be good. Fame grabs a hold of very few mega talented musicians. 

One of the coolest concerts that I've had the pleasure of seeing was during the 2015 Nora Jazz Festival in the community of Pula Sardegna which is near the city of Caglieri. I had never heard of the two artists that I saw perform that evening but Wow o Wow!

What Made The Nora Concert so Special?

Atmosphere:

First of all the concert took place in the ancient pre-Roman amphitheatre in the town of Nora which has an archaeological history dating back to the 9th century BCE. In other words we watched the performance in the remaining ruins of an archeological site!

Since the ruins are located right on the edge of the Mediterranean we had a view of the water, the moon, the stars and other ancient structures!  The lighting was ambient and discreet and this created an unforgettable impression!

The Artists:

That evening it was my immense pleasure to "discover" the singer Petra Magoni  and the stand up bass player Ferruccio Spinett. They were unique in every way. Please check out their version of "Come Together" by the Beatles in the Youtube clip below and you'll see what I mean!
